Overlook of the 2017 season and we are booking for 2018!

We have started booking for 2018 as the fishing season in Iceland will close soon when the last sea trout and salmon rivers close. This summer was our best trout fishing season so far on both Mýrarkvísl and Laxá, and most of our clients on the Lónsá had amazing success with an incredible high average size of char and trout. Most of our local char rivers did better than the last few years and hopefully it is a sign of the char stock rising again after the decline last ten years.

The salmon season in North East Iceland was well below average due to a combination of low water due to lack of snow last winter along with low returns of grills the second year in a row. On the Mýrarkvísl we had to work really hard for each salmon caught and we didn’t start catching big number until the September rains arrived.

Here are some photos from some of the fish caught in our tours this year.
