Iceland with it´s bright nights.

Since we are blessed with almost 24 hour daylight during the summer it´s ideal to fish during night time. We took a trip to lake Mývatn in northern Iceland earlier this week for a night of nymph an dry fly fishing in a small stream that descends in to the lake. We got there at about ten in the evening and the site we saw as we parked the car marked what was to come. As the car´s engine stopped and we looked at the stream we could see that there was fish feeding on flies on top of and just below the surface in great numbers. I caught a small trout in the first cast I made which was a great beginning of a wonderful night of fishing. I’m not sure but I think in total we had about 13 to 15 brown trout at three when we called it a night.
