Lake Langavatn

Langavatn is relatively large lake on the Icelandic standard and is situated on Reykjaheiði. The river has a healthy stock of arctic char along with good size brown trout. The fishing in Langavatn can be unbelievable as anglers regularly catch up to 20-30 char in a session along with a few beautiful brown trout. The best arctic char fishing is often where the small river Geitafellsá runs into the lake and in the later half of the summer, a part of the char run into river Geitfafellsá in their search for colder water and spawning grounds.

We offer day tours and ice fishing tours to lake Langavatn.

Allowed fishing techniques are fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing.

All salmon must be released and please release the larger trout but feel free to take a few char home for dinner!
