Norðurá in Skagafjordur.

Norðurá is in Norðurárdal in Skagafjörður. The river is only 64 km from Akureyri the capital of the North. Norðurá is mostly an arctic char river with the occasional salmon. The beat is 5 to 6 km long and it is allowed to fish with 3 rods a time.  

Access to the river:

there is exceptional access to the river since Iceland’s highway number 1 is just by the river and therefore there is no need for a 4x4.

Norðurá the 2011 summer

Period:    1st of July until the 9th of September

Number of rods allowed:   3 rods and the accommodations is included.

Allowed equipment:  Fly only

Price: The price for each day with accommodations 30.000,- isk 

Rules: 

From the 1st of July and until the 1st of September it is allowed to kill 3 char per rod and after that it is catch and release. Please do your best to measure the weight of every fish that is killed and the length of every released fish.

Arrangement:
12 hours a day and arrival at the Víðivellir accommodations is 20:00 the night before.
Hunting:
