River Mýrarkvísl
River Mýrarkvísl is located in the north east of Iceland. Its origin is in lake Langavatn and ends nearly 25 km later in river Laxá. For the first 2 km it runs trough plains very slowly which makes it a perfect place for dry fly fishing. Then the river runs trough almost any terrain possible sometimes fast current with pools every now and then until it slows down again and ends in river Laxá.

The season starts in the 1st of June too late July. In July the catch is mostly brown trout often from 1.lb to 6.lb. In late July the salmon start fighting their way upstream to find a suitable place to spawn. That’s when things really get interesting. In the right conditions salmon fishing in river Mýrarkvísl can be an unbelievable experience.
