River Laxa
River Laxa is one of the best salmon rivers in Iceland with a very high percentage of big salmon but, not everybody knows it is also one of the best brown trout rivers in Iceland.

Laxa is unique in that way that the brown trout only spawn every other year which makes the average size much higher than normal or somewhere around 2-3lbs.

Iceland fishing guide proudly offers tours to river Laxa in May and June 2011 as a new and exciting addition to the spring fishing options.
River Laxa beats: Laxamyri, Jarlsstadir, Hagi, Nupar, Kjolur, Holmavad, Ytra-Fjall
Number of rods: 10 (more or less, 5 Beats 2 rods each beat).
Fishing time: 12 hours at any time in agreement with the other rods.
Accommodations: A basic house with all necessities.
Fishing: Mostly brown trout and the occasional char as well as a fair chance of catching a salmon after the 10th of June.
Fact: In the end of May and in June it is basically around 20 hours of daylight so it is good to have flexible time frame to fish.
Here are photos of the accommodations.
