Huni II sea angling

Húni II is a 132 gross ton oak ship, built in Akureyri, Iceland in 1963, and was used as a fishing boat for 30 years. Húni II is one of the largest oak ships ever built in Iceland, and the largest still in use in Iceland. Húni II has served as a tour and leisure boat since 1998 and has a capacity of 100 passengers.  Húni II arrived in Akureyri in 2004 and is as a historical artefact, property of the Akureyri Industrial Museum.

Friends of Húni II (Hollvinir Húna II) are a group of people who lobbied for Húni II to be purchased by the municipality in 2004. This group, Friends of Húni II which currently has between 20 and 30 members, finance and operate Húni II.

From 2011 Iceland Fishing Guide will offer sea angling tours with Huni II. The tours are all comletely cusimized to fit the wants and needs of each customer. It´s possible to do whale watcing If the sea angling is combined.
